The discussion brought together participants from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland with the aim of supporting the democratic participation of the diaspora, strengthening the Czech-Slovak dialogue and creating specific forms of cross-border cooperation between communities and civic initiatives.
The guests of the evening opened the topics of democracy, civic participation, the protection of democratic values, the polarization of society and the importance of Central European cooperation. The discussion also showed that the diaspora can be an active part of making civil society and connecting democratic communities across countries.
The event also included group discussions, in which participants discussed specific proposals for community activities, initiatives, projects and forms of cooperation that can be implemented in the coming months.
The official part was followed by networking and informal conversations about further possibilities of cooperation between compatriots, experts and civic initiatives in the region.
